End of the road for Ponting?

It was announced by Australian selectors that, former captain Ricky Ponting was axed from the rest of the series following his rough patch in the going on tri series between India and Srilanka. His poor runs with just 18 runs to show at a lean average of 3.60 in the ongoing CB Series said the chief selector John Inverarity.

His poor run in Ashes; stripped of captaincy; now his continuing poor run in the tri-series; topping all these, is the remark by the Chief Selector Inverarity "The team will not seem the same without him, but moving on from the omission of players who have been outstanding over a long period of time is the nature of elite sport." has made his career a big question mark !!!

Ricky Ponting, a good captain with two world cup victories under his belt, second highest run scorer in the world, was once considered a worthy opponent for Sachin Tendulkar is now facing with a good possibility that we might never see him again in the international arena, has he hit a dead end of his career, is for the future to tell !!!.
