Easy way for India to reach the final in the CB series !!!!

The tour of Australia was never easy, but this Commonwealth Bank series was not the one India expected to happen. With a whitewash in the tests, and on verge of elimination from the one day series, India is sure in a perilous state with facing the heat form all sides possible !!!.

With a visible rift in the Indian team, rising discontent among the fans with back to back International team fiasco, India sure has to rise fast and hard to still stay in the series. Well, we knew from the match 8 between Indian Vs Sri Lanka taht, India has a must win its rest of the two matches to have a shot at the finals. With a fighting victory over the Aussies in the match 9, Lankans have turned the heat further on the Indian team !!!. With the odds stacked against India we have to discuss what must India make happen and and pray for to happen, to reach the much elusive finals !!!.

First, looking at the points table, India is in the third position with 10 points, Australia in second place with 14 points and Lankans at the top with 15 points. We don't have to worry about the run rate unless Sri lanka and Australia end up in a tie. So, the known fact is India has to win the rest of its two matches, but with the Lankan win last match things got bit more complicated for India, as usual !!!, but still India can get through if they win just one match !!!. India, now has to hope that Lankans wins its next match against Aussies !!!!. Seeing the role Lankans are in it is going to be a easy shot.

So, considering India wins its two matches (Fingers crossed), they will end up at 18 points. If Aussies win over Lankans they will too end up with 18 points securing the top of the table. If Sri Lanka wins the Aussies in their next encounter, they will end up top and India at the second, sounds coll doesn't it. But, knowing our team we need to consider the possibility that they will crumble with pressure, with the present state it is in. So, what India need is a chance to put itself through to the finals with just one win !!!. India must not lose to the Aussies and win it with a bonus points (Fingers crossed, again ) and has to hope the Aussies lose to Lankans, which will bring India to the second place with 15 points and Aussies at the bottom with 14 points. This might seem funny to even consider the possibility of a bonus point victory, but just one good innings from Sehwag (If he plays, thanks to rotation policy) can turn the table. By now many will think I am being very optimistic, well I am. What can one do, but hope, that some miracle will happen that will gel the team together in spite of such dismal performances.
